The Xenopus Model Welfare Organization will make the use of xenopus as a model organism better by promoting model specific, species specific knowledge and making that knowledge readily available to all stakeholders, including researchers, animal care supervisors, veterinarians, IACUC’s, and government oversight entities. It will influence the care, well-being, and welfare of xenopus as a model for years to come. It will be a compassionate entity that supports the care of xenopus frogs in research institutions and supports the people using xenopus by promoting science based, practical knowledge that can be used by all.

Xenbase's mission is to provide the international research community with a comprehensive, integrated and easy to use web based resource that gives access the diverse and rich genomic, expression and functional data available from Xenopus research. Xenbase also provides a critical data sharing infrastructure for many other NIH-funded projects, and is a focal point for the Xenopus community. In addition to our primary goal of supporting Xenopus researchers, Xenbase enhances the availability and visibility of Xenopus data to the broader biomedical research community.

he Australian and New Zealand Council for the Care of Animals in Research and Teaching (ANZCCART) and the Ministry for Primary Industries have produced a series of booklets on the application of the three Rs (replacement, reduction and refinement) in the use of animals in research and teaching.

AWIC is part of the US Department of Agriculture. It is mandated by the Animal Welfare Act (AWA) to provide information for improved animal care and use in research, testing, teaching, and exhibition.

CAAT is an academic, science based centre within the John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in the USA and the University of Konstanz in Germany, which is  dedicated to the promotion of research intoin vitro and other alternative techniques, Three Rs education and information.

CCAC promotes the application of Three Rs in Canada. Through a website it provides the latest information on the Three Rs, a search tool and a search guide. 

Replacing Animal Research is dedicated to the development of new and valid methods that will replace the need for laboratory animals in medical and scientific research, education, and testing. Where the use of animals is currently necessary, Replacing Animal Research supports the reduction of numbers involved to an unavoidable minimum and refinement of experimental procedures to minimise any suffering caused. The E-learning resource of Replacing Animal Research has been set up to provide teachers, school children, students and general supporters with information about the different areas of animal experimentation and with specific resources as to how it can be reduced, refined or replaced.
