
The University of Cambridge’s Non-Human Primate facility is home to our marmosets.
Our marmoset work provides a fundamental understanding of the processes behind the symptoms of psychiatric disorders including depression, obsessive compulsive disorder and anxiety. This work will help to transform the lives of the millions affected by these conditions as current treatments are limited and show variable success rates. Given the high cognitive abilities and complex social behaviour of these animals, they are only utilised where absolutely necessary and where, for ethical and practical reasons, it is not possible to carry out the research in humans.
