PIL Refresher Course

The refresher course is delivered wholly online and on demand. It covers learning outcomes from the Home Office PIL course for categories ABC and the PPL course. You need only complete the sections relevant to the PIL you currently hold (and/or PPL).

The course is divided into sections to allow people to complete just legislation, ethics and euthanasia; PIL A theory (currently available for both rodents - but applicable to other mammals - and fish with a xenopus version to be added soon); PIL B and PIL C.

Each section has a short quiz to be completed (PIL C is split into module 21 and 22 to allow for those individuals using prolonged anaesthesia and not surgery). Once these are completed successfully, we will issue you with a certificate that can be used as evidence of maintaining knowledge for PIL reviews etc.

The cost of the PIL refresher course is £72.20 for internal candidates and £86.64 for external candidates. Please raise a purchase order to University Biomedical Services. Alternatively, please contact ubstraining@admin.cam.ac.uk for a link to pay by card.
