Speaker: Maya Bodnar, PhD Student
Maya Bodnar, BSc (Hons), is a PhD student in the Animal Welfare Program at the University of British Columbia (UBC). She holds a BSc (Hons) in Applied Animal Biology from UBC. Her research focuses on practical strategies to improve the welfare of laboratory rodents. Before her PhD work, she conducted research on methods to improve anesthesia and euthanasia procedures for laboratory mice. Her doctoral research focuses on refining routine mouse handling, including the use of cage enrichment (shelters) as handling devices.
