Introduction to Rodent Dissection and Sampling Course

This interactive course will introduce participants to both the theory and practical aspects of dissection and sampling. Attendees will cover the importance of the task, consequences of incorrect technique, selection of the correct equipment, and basic anatomy and anatomical language. Using a mix of online learning, Q&A’s and live Zoom sessions students can work through the theory at their own pace, before practising in their unit and taking a practical assessment with either us or a supervisor from the workplace.

The course is aimed at technicians who are new to taking tissues or have limited experience. It may also be a useful refresher for those who have received no formal training but have been carrying out the practical procedure for a while. For those requiring more extensive training in the handling of tissues, we will shortly be offering a follow-on course with more advanced techniques. This will be a continuation of the skills learned in the introductory course and suitable for those having completed this. This course comes with CPD points from the IAT for successful completion.

The full cost of this course is £120
