World leader in innovations without laboratory animals by 2025. That is the aim of the Dutch Minister for Agriculture, Martijn van Dam. In March 2016, the Minister asked the Netherlands National Committee for the protection of animals used for scientific purposes (NCad) to draw up a schedule for the phasing out of animal procedures.
‘Research integrity’ is an overarching term relating to the standards to which research is done. It requires every individual to acknowledge their responsibilities as well as being accountable for adhering to legal and ethical principles.
Sabre offers ten recommendations and a strategy.They define these reccomendations (the 10Rs+) as RESPOND, REPLICATE, REGISTER, REPORT, RECORD, REVIEW, REGULATE, REAPPRAISE, RATIONALISE, REINVENT, REPRESENT.
