The South Cambridge rodent facility level 4 is our transgenic breeding floor for mice. Our transgenic mice are bred and then held here in preparation for studies.
Level 4 has a dedicated team who provide breeding and rederivation of transgenic lines as a service to users. Our transgenic space includes transgenic animal holding rooms, transgenic microinjection suites and transgenic cryopreservation rooms.
Due to the breeding that takes place on this floor, we maintain a very high SOPF status. We limit access of this floor to UBS staff only to help maintain this high health status and users manage their colonies using the mouse colony management system (MCMS).
