University Biomedical Services (UBS)

Seminars are held at which the theoretical components of the courses are taught, accompanied by practical training in handling animals and other skills - either within your own workplace or through arrangement with UBS.

To ensure effective training, class sizes will be restricted as follows:

Course PIL Categories - A, AB or ABF PIL Category - C PPL
Maximum number of participants 30 16 30

Please note that the student numbers for PIL Category C courses are very restricted due to the practical element. Because of this, we cannot refund course fees if your booking is cancelled less than 2 weeks before the course start date (except in exceptional circumstances).

Course numbers have to be strictly adhered to, and submission of a form and purchase order does not guarantee a place on the preferred course. An application form and purchase order must be sent in to book a place on these courses.

Forms must be completed electronically and sent to as an email attachment.

Applications must be received no later than 14 days before the start of the course. Early application is strongly recommended.

Access to course materials, timetables, etc., is through secure (identifier and password) login to Moodle, the University's online learning resource. If you work within the University or an associated institution the easiest way to login is by using a Raven identifier. If you do not work within the University, UBS will add you as a 'Friends' user and an email will be sent to you prompting you to register and set up an account.
